Good morning – Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Things have gotten back to normal so I wanted to follow-up with you regarding my Seychelles vacation. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for the most AMAZING trip.
The UA Emirates airline was above average, although the 13 hour flight time to Dubai is grueling. Dubai airport is very modern, well organized, all information in English & lots of duty free shopping at great prices. The airport has recliner type chairs that make the 4 hour lay-over tolerable. I cannot say enough good things about the local tour agency – Creole, from the welcome at Mahe airport on arrival, all excursions and drop-off at Mahe airport for departure all personnel were friendly, courteous & knowledgeable. There was not one glitch with any of the arrangements. Once in the Seychelles, I would make Praslin or La Digue home base. Mahe is larger, busier, more cars & the people are more city-like in attitude. The people on Praslin & La Digue have an irresistible southern-like graciousness & genuine friendliness. English is the primary language then Creole & French. Travel from Mahe to Praslin is a short one hour ride on high speed ferry; Praslin to La Digue is about ½ hour on high speed ferry; La Digue to Mahe is less than two hours on high speed ferry. All hotels were very nice. Praslin & La Digue the best as they are in the loveliest garden setting. The main hotel restaurant sits right on the beach with a gorgeous view. The hotel spa on Praslin is Balinese so you know the massage was outstanding. The half board at all the hotels worked out great – dinner buffet consisted of international & local favorites. All hotels had nightly entertainment by local groups. I am not a morning person so I never made breakfast. The weather was sunny & warm. A few days had rainy downpour overnight but sunny by 9 in the morning. The beaches are beautiful beyond words; the Indian Ocean the most incredible shades of blue so clear you can see the fish – a true dive & snorkel paradise. The time of year was perfect as there were no crowds. Again, thank you, my trip exceeded my expectations & hopes.
