Dear Joan, The trip was absolutely awesome!! I really and truly did not want to come home.
We were able to eat at two of the local restaurants, the Hofbrahaus in Munich (WHAT an experience!!) and the Bishofhaus in Regensburg. The food was amazing at both restaurants. I could’ve stayed in Munich and Vienna a couple of more days.
The river cruise was great. My only regret was that we didn’t splurge for the Suite, the rooms were pretty small so what time we did spend in our cabin we tripped over one another. The crew on the Amadeus Royale were amazing. I liked the small ship, it was easier to meet people and visit.
My favorite city was Dirnstein. It was rustic, small, medieval and came complete with a castle ruins!! I had my spot all picked out to sell Gluhwein and Christmas trees in the winter and beer in the summer. J Our shopping consisted of shopping at the Kristkindlemarkets. We did buy a cuckoo clock and a couple of steins.
